Announcements and Updates

I would like to add a new section to my links list, a section dedicated to those people who I have had the privilege to both "meet" and meet while doing Avon Walk training events and internet programs.

While I feel it's important to spread the wealth, it's not necessarily everyone's cup of tea. If you know that I have your site, but would prefer that I didn't link it, please e-mail me. The subject line will be filled in for you already.

Thanks in advance!

Rough Phone Call

Things are a little tough right now on Mary. . . since I got so caught up in my own stuff, I didn't call as often as I probably ought to have and learned today that she has lost most of her reconstructed right breast.

As I said on the phone, this is what I get for not calling sooner. In addition to this not so good news, her FMLA leave expires in about 3 more weeks, so hopefully she'll be able to go back to work.

Mary will have another surgery late this summer. I don't know yet if she'll want me around, but she's made the offer to continue to help me with my fundraising campaign, and send out a joint letter to her friends and family. . . an offer I can't refuse, of course.

She hasn't gotten her computer set up just yet, but I hope that she will soon.

Thank you again for your continued support, prayers and well-wishes. Mary will need the strength in the coming months.

Page Update

FYI - The donor-name ticker is back up on my personal Avon Walk site.

Please note that I may choose to remove it again, but it's staying up for now.

Pink, Pink and More Pink

Not that this is particularly exceptional to note, but there's a great deal of pink in my house this weekend.

I've finished about 42 of my handmade pink ribbons, am scribbling my information onto more (pink) Avon Walk posters, and have been looking for a ream of pink printer paper so that I can reduce my copy-costs when I finally write my 3-month update letter.

I also received a "belated" birthday present from Mary. . . a gorgeous Pink Ribbon watch, that I've updated for daylight savings time and plan to wear this week to remind me to get my butt in gear for my update letter. There's no time like the present, but that's how I've managed to finish my ribbons. I'm pleased with the way they've turned out, so I'm planning to sell them at a potential office-wide craft fair during the first week of May. . . of course, this means I need to get more ribbon to make sure I have enough to send in my mailing. =)

Anyway, things are great and the site's a hit with so many people that I'm floored and flattered by all the compliments.

Maybe next walk, I'll get the group to give a shout out. . . after all, I have plenty of posts left to use!
