Received Via E-Mail:

St. Theresa's Prayer:
May today there be peace within.
May you trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to
be.
May you not forget the Infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that
has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into our bones, and allow your soul the freedom to
sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of you.

Those of us who have given of ourselves to events like the Avon Walk feel this each time we participate, from Opening Ceremonies through until Closing Ceremonies. It expresses the "why?" behind our dedication and endurance in terms of compassion and faith, and it's a wonderful thing to share.

What a Weekend!

I may be a little footsore and a lot neck-and-shoulder sore, but this whole weekend was so very worth every step.

I shared stories with so many people from around the NYC-area. . . and the country.

The 2004 Avon Walk - New York raised over $7.2 million with 2,700 walkers and crew members. Our grants and gifts at closing ceremonies will bring underinsured and uninsured women in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut hope, treatment and education services in several major hospitals, including Newark Beth Israel Hospital, and our medical sponsor, New York Presbyterian Hospital.

I'm already hoping to hit the pavement again in 2005. . . maybe I'll do the 39.3 miles that my body wasn't able to do this year. Maybe I'll crew in a different city. . . you never know.

One weekend. . . a world of good.
