Cold Snap!

Well, the last week has seen snow (!), the coming of SPRING (hooray!) and, unfortunately for me, a nasty cold that I am having difficulty getting over.

However, I am feeling better, although not quite at 100%. . . but, I am resting up for my 2nd official training walk on Sunday morning.

Today I also received my first birthday card and it is from Mary. With all the things she has been concerned about, I almost cried that she took the time to remember my birthday. She also sent a note that donations have been made in the names of her breast surgeon, oncologist and plastic surgeon. . . I am greatly looking forward to sending them their 'thank you' notes and pink ribbons! If it weren't for their skill and expertise, Mary would have quite a different road ahead of her, so I cannot thank them enough.

As for my pink ribbons, well, since I was ill last week, I only managed to make about 14, but they look pretty good. I altered the directions from the American Cancer Society to make it easier to wear, I bought ribbon that was wider than the directions had indicated . . . but, I adjusted all my measurements to meet my materials. It may have been a bit more ambitious than I'd realized, but I can always call a friend for a helping hand (or two)!

My next task is to work on my update letter, which I would like to send in next week's mail. . . it's kind of funny that I'll be sending out greetings at my birthday, rather than the other way around! =) It's for a better cause than me and for more hope than a wish made over birthday candles.
