33.65 Miles!

OK, I know on the audio update, I promised a Monday typed post, but I only made it onto the computer at 4pm, and it was just to log into my AvonWalk to give my message board shout-outs.

It happens.

This weekend, I walked 33.65 miles, spoke with many wonderful, inspirational and motivated men and women, and invited my mom to Closing Ceremony.

Incidentally, I managed to fundraise a grand total of $2067.04 for the fight against breast cancer in the New York tri-state area. . .those late and cash donations pushed me over the top and really made a difference. They also meant that I didn't have to self-pledge the difference between my posted $1717.50 and the minimum $1800! Yay!

The way everything came together really means a great deal to me; so much, in fact, that I signed up to walk again next year while resting my tired feet on Sunday.

Closing Ceremony, as always, was emotional. The Crew, as always, was WONDERFUL and very patient. I don't know where they get it from, but I'm so glad they have it!

My mom and I went to dinner afterwards (Angelica Kitchen) and had a wonderful drive home. We have decided that for Christmas this year, she and my step-dad will be giving me a duffel with wheels for use on this event. Carrying 2 bags around the City is not fun; Mommy learned that the hard way. Poor Mommy.

Anyway, I'll check in again after I get my Day 2 photos developed and posted to the Yahoo! account. . . and after I get the ones Martha took so I can share the love.

Until then, I'm BACK in NYC for 2006!
