Update Letters - Hooray!

OK, so I'm still about 2 weeks behind where I'd wanted to be, but I'm catching up.

I've written and sent out my 3-month update e-mail and another info package to Mary. She's graciously written 6 letters to her friends and family, enclosing donation coupons and envelopes, that I've added my two cents (a modified version of the 3-month update letter) and dropped into the mail today. I also sent copies of the update letter and my newsletter article draft (on floppy disk to save some typing) as well as my 3-page donor list and a "thank you" note. This will give us both something else to do after she settles back into her work routine.

Fundraising is still going well, although it's kinda standing still at $1385. I expect that it will pick up after I get my lazy butt in gear and send out that update letter, so I'm not complaining. I think it's also a challenge that the Event is in October, so most folks feel they've got plenty of time. . . but October will be here much more quickly than we all think!

Other than that, it's been a very low-key week, for which I am thankful. One highlight, though, is that my bucket hat arrived today and it has a nice broad brim to keep my neck shaded, plus it's a little big, so it'll fit on my swelled head. I also ordered 2 ponchos, one to train with and one to keep fresh for the Event. I feel like I'm almost all geared up. . . my last thing to get is sunscreen with bug repellant in it, but there's an Avon brand that has one with dye in it so you don't forget where you put it, like the Coppertone for Kids stuff that's glittery. Plus, since it's the "for kids" version, I'm hoping it will be gentler on my oh-so-sensitive skin!

Anyhoo, that's all for now. . . let's get out and train!
